I will stamp all over 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

Despite those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

However, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making huge earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters met for the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly happening.
